About FuelGrid SA

FuelGrid SA is a free, independent South African fuel price information service. Prices are sourced from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) and the Department of Mineral Resources & Energy (DMRE). FuelGrid SA is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any government entity.

All prices, forecasts, and grid zone data displayed on FuelGrid SA are provided for informational purposes only. Nothing on this platform constitutes financial, commercial, procurement, or legal advice.

While we update data daily from official sources, FuelGrid SA makes no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any information displayed.

Diesel and IP zone prices are modelled estimates derived from official CEF anchor prices and DMRE magisterial district zone differentials. They are indicative only and may differ from officially gazetted figures.

Forecast data is indicative only. The official monthly price adjustment is announced by DMPR and published in the Government Gazette. Forecasts do not guarantee future prices.

Diesel over-recovery deepening for JulyAs at 19 Jun, the review-period average over-recovery (29 May–19 Jun) has built to roughly R4.57–R4.97/L diesel (500ppm/50ppm) and ~R2.90/L petrol. The latest single-day reading (19 Jun) is even larger at ~R5.13–R5.76/L diesel and ~R3.38/L petrol as the basket eased. If the average holds, the CEF adjustment more than absorbs the R1.96/L diesel and R1.50/L petrol levy add-backs, pointing to likely July diesel decreases despite the levy.

July diesel outlook reflects the +R1.96/L levy net of the current average over-recovery (~R4.6–R5.0/L diesel, ~R2.9/L petrol on the 29 May–19 Jun review average; latest daily 19 Jun ~R5.1–R5.8/L diesel) — based on running CEF daily data, this points to diesel down into July. Final July prices depend on the full review-period over/under-recovery, crude and the rand — not yet finalised. June prices (3 Jun–30 Jun 2026) are official, per CEF/DMRE statement released 29 May 2026.
